DOMAIN NAMES

A domain name is an exclusive address on the Internet that identifies your website and email address. A domain name must be registered with an approved registrar and the website corresponding to the domain name hosted by an Internet service provider.

Before registering a domain name, you must first ensure that the name has not already been taken and is available to you.

It is important to note that registering a domain name does not give you any ownership rights over the name itself; only a trademark can give you this type of protection. Domain names are best protected when they are also registered as trademarks. In fact, there are now hundreds of extensions (.com, .org, net, .ca, .live, etc.) which can become a problem if the corresponding brand is not adequately protected.
