Profile

Robert understands the needs of entrepreneurs, being an entrepreneur himself. Most of its clients are entrepreneurs and a very large number of them operate technology companies.
He has become a leading expert in Canada in the areas of intellectual property, start-ups and their financing.
He holds an engineering degree from the University of Sherbrooke (1972) and a law degree from Laval University (1975). He is a member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec. He is a registered trademark agent and patent agent in Canada and the United States. He began his career at Ogilvy Renault in 1977. He was one of the co-founders of BCF in 1992. Robert founded Brouillette Légal, a multidisciplinary firm of patent and trademark lawyers and agents focusing on entrepreneurs and innovators.
He is former chairman of the board of directors of the Anges Québec network (a group of angel investors) and has invested as an angel investor/mentor in more than sixty start-ups. His professional background makes him a man passionate about entrepreneurship.

Professional and social activities

Robert is a former Executive Chair of the National Intellectual Property Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association. He is a member of various associations operating in the field of intellectual property and direct sales, including the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC), the Licensing Executive Society (LES), the American Intellectual Property Law Association , the College of Patent Agents and Trademark Agents (CABAMC), LawPact as well as the Action TI Network.
He is currently a board member of a number of companies, including: Intelia, Biosun and E2Metrix. He has been a member of the board of directors of a number of companies, including iWeb, Simsmart, Hydro-Québec and of HQ Capitech and HQ Indutech.
Robert is also very active within the community of young entrepreneurs, to whom he regularly provides mentoring and intellectual property training.
